Biography Stanley
Sylvester “Stan” Stanley is a retired public school teacher, Master Gardener, and handyman. He has been working with rain barrels for about seven years and teaches rain barrel workshops throughout the NRV for the New River Valley Master Gardener Association. His creativity has been instrumental in creating various projects at his home in Pulaski. Although not a professional artist, he enjoys taking on projects that are new, exciting, and challenging. This is his first participation in a public art exhibit.
Biography Lockwood Following a corporate career spanning two decades, Susan Lockwood tapped into her creative talents to become a fine art photographer. Her award-winning photography has been featured in national juried exhibitions throughout the northeast and southeast areas of the U.S. and may be found in a number of permanent collections in Virginia. Periodically, she conducts 2-day composition workshops.
A Master Gardener since 2001, she enjoys working with the Junior Master Gardener program and volunteers at the Hahn Horticulture Garden.
Artist Statement
Seeing the latest Star Wars movie with grandchildren in January served as the source of her inspiration to transform a rain barrel into a droid, resulting in a partnership with Stan Stanley and the creation of V2T2.
