Artist Statement
I have dabbled in various types of arts and crafts since childhood, starting with my mother's paper origami. After a 30 year career in making small, technical fiber optic glass components under a microscope, I took a glass fusing art class at the local YMCA. I immediately fell in love with all the colors and focused on making bright, decorative sun catchers. My favorites are the mysterious, colorful fantasy worlds, including the bubbly underwater scenes. Mixing these glass pieces with driftwood and unusual tree roots, I have created colorful enchanted three dimensional mini worlds to decorate sunshine filled rooms.
